Help with BuildClear
Email support@buildclear.ai. Tell us what you were doing and what you saw on the screen. A screenshot helps a lot.
Getting started
How do I sign in?
Go to app.buildclear.ai and use your email and password, or a passkey if you've set one up. If you forgot your password, tap "Forgot your password?" on that page. We'll email you a link to sign in or to reset it.
What happens when someone invites me to a project?
You get an email with a button to join the project. If the person who added you gave your phone number, you get a text from the project too. Either link is yours alone and works for 7 days, so don't forward it.
If you're new to BuildClear, tapping the link can sign you in with no app or password. If you already have an account, sign in first and the same link adds you to the project. If a link has run out, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
Does it work on my phone?
BuildClear works in your phone's browser as well as on a computer.
Working with Sparky
Sparky is the AI project manager on every BuildClear project. It keeps track of what's waiting on you and what's waiting on others, files what comes in from emails and texts, and answers questions about the job. What the AI sees is covered in the AI Processing section of the Privacy Policy.
How do I reach Sparky?
- In the app, tap Sparky at the bottom right and ask about the project.
- By text, text Sparky at the project's number from your own phone.
- By email, CC Sparky at the project's email address, or write to Sparky there directly.
The project's number and email address are in the top bar of the app on a computer, and in the menu on a phone. There's a Save contact button next to them, so Sparky's texts show up under a name and not a number you don't know.
Does Sparky send or file things on its own?
Anything Sparky would send to someone else waits for your yes first. It shows you who gets it and the exact words.
What Sparky files from an email is marked as recorded by Sparky. Open Home and look under "What Sparky did". Each line says where it came from. If you can undo it, there's an Undo button on the line.
Texts and email from BuildClear
Why did I get a text from BuildClear?
Someone added you to a project with your phone number, or you agreed to texts when you signed up. The texts are about the projects you're on.
How do I stop the texts?
Reply STOP to any BuildClear text. That turns off texts from BuildClear on every project, not just that one. Reply START to turn them back on, or HELP to find out who we are and how to reach us. Stopping texts doesn't change your access to BuildClear. The rules are in the text messaging terms.
What does mail from BuildClear look like?
Mail about project activity comes from a no-reply address. The sender name is a name, then "(via BuildClear)". A message from someone on your project shows their name, like "Jim Alvarez (via BuildClear)". A project's activity summary shows the project's name.
What if I email a project from an address it doesn't know?
BuildClear holds mail from an address the project doesn't know, so it isn't filed. Write from the email address the project has for you, or ask the project's owner to add the address you use to the directory.
Who sees what
When BuildClear files something from an email, it goes to the people on that message's From, To and Cc lines who are on the project, and to everyone at their companies. Bcc doesn't count. The owner's side sees it if someone on the owner's side was on the email. Anyone it's assigned to, or anyone following it, sees it too.
On the Estate plan, NDA mode keeps the owner's identity private on the project.
Plans and billing
Plans and prices are on the pricing page. To upgrade or change a plan, open Settings, then Billing, on the project. Only the project's Owner can do this. The Manage Plan button opens the payment page, where you can change plan, update your card or see invoices. For anything else about your plan, email us.
Your account
Your name, email and phone are in Settings, under User Settings. If you change your email, we send a link to the new address. Your old email stays on the account until you open that link.
Passkeys and your password are in Settings, under Security & Account (on a phone, Security). You can rename or remove a passkey any time. Adding a new one needs a paid plan, and the passkeys you already have keep working either way.
Delete your account
You can delete your BuildClear account yourself, or ask us to do it.
In the app on iPhone or Android
Tap your picture or initial at the top right of the screen, then Settings, then Security, then Delete account. We'll ask you to confirm it's you and to type DELETE.
On a computer or a larger iPad
Sign in, click your picture or initials at the top right, then Profile. Delete account is at the bottom of the page. Guest accounts can't do this here, so use the email option below.
Without the app, or if you can't sign in
Email support@buildclear.ai from the address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account." We'll verify it's you and delete it. If you sign in with a phone number and have no email on the account, email us with that phone number and we'll confirm it's you through that number before we delete anything.
What gets deleted
Your sign-in stops working on every phone and computer. Your email, phone number and photo are removed from your account, and your name becomes "Former member."
What stays
Items, messages, photos and documents you added to a project stay in that project's record. They show as "Former member" with your company's name, and your company keeps its records. Audit logs are kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
For 30 days after you delete, support can restore your account. After that, your personal details are erased for good. If a legal hold applies to a project you worked on, we keep your personal details until the hold ends. After that, email support@buildclear.ai and we'll finish deleting your account.
Before you delete
- If you're the only Owner on a project, make someone else an Owner first.
- If you pay for a company's billing, another Owner has to take it over first. Email support@buildclear.ai and we'll move it for you.
- If you changed your email in the last 7 days, you can delete your account once the 7 days are up.
